- What is a nomee card?
A nomee card is a collection of social web information that its owner wishes to share publicly. It links to personal interests and provides only as much contact info as the card holder wishes to share. A nomee card is part of the nomee application, built in Adobe AIR and distributed free by nomee.com.
- Is nomee another social network?
No. nomee is a new app for following and sharing across social sites.
- Why do I need nomee?
You are on lots of sites, and your contacts are, too. nomee allows you to keep up with people, not sites, by collecting and delivering info by person.
- How many sites work with nomee?
nomee supports more than 120 social sites, including facebook, Myspace, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, and many, many others. And more are being added every day. If you find a site we don’t support, please email us at support@nomee.com. We’ll add it ASAP.
- How much is nomee?
nomee is free.
- Why do I have to download nomee?
nomee is software powered by Adobe Air. Downloading the program allows you to control your social sites and info from your computer.
- How do I get started?
Enter your email and password, agree to nomee terms and click sign up. From here you can follow the screen prompts that appear with each new window. You can browse and add public nomees as soon as you sign up, but you need to verify your email before you can share a card.
- How do I share a nomee card?
Before you can share a card you must have verified your email. After you verify your email click on the share a nomee button at the bottom of your dashboard and then create your first card. Follow the directions that pop up on the screen to fill out and share your first card.
- Can I take back the info I’ve shared with a nomee card?
Yes. Any info you change on your card is automatically changed on the card that everyone has for you. If your phone number changes or if you choose to scale back your activity on a social site, change the info on your card. It is then changed on everyone else’s computer.
- Can I take back my entire card?
Yes. Under your shared cards tab, highlight a contact or email address with whom you’ve shared, then select delete contact. This will remove your card from that contact’s dashboard.
- How can I receive a nomee?
When your friends share their nomee cards they will appear as pending cards in your dashboard. You will be alerted that you have pending contacts and need to accept or decline the cards. If you accept, their nomee cards will be automatically filed under unassigned in your nomee dashboard.
- How do I organize received cards?
Cards can be organized in your dashboard by creating groups and clicking and dragging cards under the tab you want them in.
- Is my info secure?
Yes, you are always in control of what information you share.
- How do I update or change my personal information?
You can edit and delete contact info and sites under the profile manager, at the top left of the nomee card. You can add sites here as well as directly to any cards you make or have made.
- Can contacts with my card see whose cards I have?
No, only you can see the cards on your dashboard.
- Can I block someone from getting my card?
People can only get your card if you send it to them. The exception – if you check “make this card public” on a shared nomee card. That allows the recipient to forward and share.
- How do I change my profile/card image?
You can add or change images on cards through the profile editor or by editing/creating a new card.
- How do I report errors or make a suggestion about features?

- How do I change my password?
You can change your password, disable alerts on sites, and authorize facebook under the settings menu. This is located at the top left, next to the profile editor. Select settings from the drop-down menu.
- How do I add a group to my dashboard?
At the bottom of your dashboard there is a button to “add a new group”, use this to create a new group to organize your contacts’ cards.
- How do I delete a whole group?
Highlight on the top tab of a group right-click and then select delete group.
- How do I accept or decline a card?
Click on the card to open it, and there you will be prompted to accept or decline the card.
- Can I forward cards that I have in my dashboard?
Cards that have been made public can be forwarded.
- How do I get newsmaker cards?
In your dashboard under follow, at the bottom you can click browse. From here you can browse all the newsmaker cards and add them to your dashboard.
- How do I change what websites are shown on my cards?
If you click on the shared cards tab, you can choose the edit card option on the right. From there you can select or deselect sites that will appear on that card. The card will change and sites will be added or removed the next time those contacts login to nomee.
- How do I change what card someone sees/ how do I change who has what card after I have already sent a card?
Under shared cards, you can click on a contacts’ name or email and drag them under which ever card you want to share with them.
- How do I turn off alerts/ clear alerts from a group/ card?
Highlight on a group right-click and select clear alerts
- What is a public nomee?
A public nomee is a card that can be freely forwarded by anyone who has that card on their dashboard. It also gives the user the option to copy the embed code and paste it on their sites.
- What is a nomee dashboard?
The dashboard is a sleek and handy card storage system. It’s where other users’ cards are sorted. You can create whatever groups you want in your dashboard.
- Can others see my cards or be updated when my computer is off?
Yes, your card lives in their dashboard on their desktop. They may still see your info and latest updates even if your computer is off.
- Can I set nomee to auto login when I first open the app?
Yes, click the auto login box above the sign in button to automatically log you in when you open nomee. By unchecking that box you turn autologin off.
- Can I set nomee to start automatically?
Yes, under general settings you can click the auto start box to automatically start nomee up when you start up your computer.
- Why do cards go to unassigned in my dashboard after I accept them?
Until you add a new group or move the card under a group tab they will automatically go into a unassigned group.
- Can I create multiple cards?
Yes, you may create as many cards as you want.
- How do I embed my nomee card on Facebook or other sites?
Make sure your card is checked as "Public"
Click embed at the top left of your card and choose where you want to embed this card. Select the format you want and then copy the HTML. This produces HTML.
Follow the instructions on your sites to embed the nomee code on your page.
Now your fans can download all your links and keep them live on their desktop just by grabbing your nomee newsmaker card.
